Animal Control

Important Announcement from our Director:

Good Morning GCAC Friends, Family and Followers!

We are pleased to announce that Greene County Animal Control is back to full services with a few changes!!

We are "Open" to the public now, but animals are seen by appointment only.  For better service, we ask that all visitors call the shelter ahead of time to see if an appointment is needed.

We will be discontinuing the Lost and Found Hotline, however you can still call the direct line and report your pet missing.  The lost and found page will still be available on our website.  If we have your pet and you have identified them online, please call the shelter and schedule an appointment to come and pick your pet up. 💕

We still have some really awesome pets for adoption and waiting for their forever families... we encourage you to visit their profiles at Petango.com and put in an adoption application, we will contact you to come in and meet with them! 🐶💕

If you need to surrender your pet, please call us for information on our new intake policy.

We would also like to say Thank you to everyone who supported us and our efforts to protect our animals and keep our residents safe during the unprecedented time!

Julie Holmes-Taylor

In addition to being the dog warden, we also provide extended services to some areas of Greene County, which include:

  • Barking dog ordinance
  • Deceased animal pickup
  • Nuisance wildlife traps
  • Stray cats
Please call our office with which township, city or village you live in. This will help us provide the best information we can.
