Permit Application Procedure
In order to apply for a Building permit, you will need the following:
- Application
- (2) complete sets of plans *if Commercial, need to be signed/sealed.
- (2) site/plot plans
- Approved zoning permit from local jurisdiction. *if you do not have it at the time of application, it will be needed before issuance of permit.
- Permit fee (cash, check or credit card) *at least 1/3 payment at the time of application.
- Obtain Floodplain Development Permit, if applicable.
- In Bath Township, check for WPAFB Airport Fly Zone Permit.
- Balance of permit fees due at the time of issuance.
- Application
- (2) complete sets of floor plans drawn to scale.
- Identify use of each room, room dimensions, location of doors, windows and layout of furnishings and shelving. Indicate aisle widths.
- Identify, on plans, previous tenant Use Group.
- Indicate, on plans, if building has a fire suppression system.
- Indicate, on plans, the type of construction (use of combustible or non-combustible materials).
- Plans sealed by an Architect or Engineer are not required if proposed occupant is the same Use Group as previous tenant.
- Change of tenant Use Groups or illegible plans will be required to be sealed by an Architect or Engineer.
- Approved zoning permit from local jurisdiction. *If you do not have it at the time of application, it will be needed before issuance of permit.
- Permit fee (cash, check or credit card) *at least 1/3 of payment at the time of application.
- Balance of permit fees due at the time of issuance.
- Application
- (2) complete sets of plans – for Commercial applications.
- (2) complete sets of plans- for Residential gas line applications ONLY.
- Exception: Residential Electrical Permits, if Service is 400 Amps or higher, (2) one line drawings are required.
- Permit fee (cash, check or credit card) *at least 1/3 payment at the time of application.
- Balance of permit fees due at the time of issuance.
- Application
- (3) complete sets of plans
- Permit fee (cash, check or credit card) *at least 1/3 payment at the time of application.
- Balance of permit fees due at the time of issuance.
- If applying for all permits at the same time, only two complete sets of plans, including all of the above, are required.
- Exception: Fire Alarm and Sprinkler applications require (3) sets of plans.
- Commercial- 2-4 weeks
- Residential- 14-21 business days.
- Please note: This is an approximate time frame. Due to workload, plan review could take 15-30 business days.
