BROWN ROAD BRIDGE REPLACEMENT

PROJECT INFO SHEET

This project is to replace the existing Brown Road Bridge and resurface Brown Road.

PROJECT LOCATION

The Brown Road bridge is located in Sugarcreek Township, passing over the Little Sugarcreek approximately 560 feet south of Swigart Road. This bridge is a single lane bridge on a dead end road that serves several houses and a church.

STATUS

The Brown Road bridge was built in 1991, and is 37 feet long and 18 feet wide. The bridge is currently ranked a 5P. It has broken prestressed strands, spalls, and delamination.

This project consists of replacing the structurally deficient Brown Road bridge over the Little Sugarcreek, roadway approach work, channel protection and resurfacing of Brown Road.  The project length is approximately 2100 feet.  The proposed structure is being determined as part of the design build process.  The span is estimated at 50 feet.  The roadway is 28 feet.  Traffic will be maintained using a temporary bridge.  The road will be milled and paved at the same time.

FUNDING

The project is funded with funds from Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC), the Greene County Engineer, and Sugarcreek Township.  The total project cost is $705,000.  The OPWC grant is $564,000.

PROPOSED SCHEDULE

This project is a design-build job that will be advertised in Summer 2023 and completed Fall/Winter 2023.

Traffic will be maintained during construction.
