Domestic Relations Court
Mission Statement
The Greene County Domestic Relations Court’s mission is to uphold and interpret the law fairly and justly while treating all patrons with respect, dignity, and compassion. Greene County DR is dedicated to serving families in transition by efficiently resolving their disputes and creating personalized solutions for each family. The Court will provide an accessible and user-friendly environment by continually evaluating processes, resources, and directing them to meet the changing needs of the community. Greene County DR will preserve the integrity of court proceedings and maintain a people-centered focus by cultivating relationships with community resources and using remote appearance technology sparingly. This is the Court’s pledge to its patrons.
Location and Hours
The courthouse is located at 595 Ledbetter Road, Xenia, OH 45385. The courthouse is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The courthouse is closed on the following holidays:
- New Year's Day
- Martin Luther King Day
- President's Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Veteran's Day
- Thanksgiving/Friday after Thanksgiving
- Christmas Day
Jurisdiction
The Greene County Domestic Relations Court (DR Court) has exclusive jurisdiction over bringing marriages to an end. This may be done by divorce, dissolution, or annulment. In addition, the Court has authority to enforce all of its orders, even after the marriage ends.
The DR Court also has jurisdiction over legal separations; custody and child support for married persons not ending their marriage; and all matters involving custody, visitation, and support of minor children of the marriage, unless they are already wards of another court (i.e. Juvenile Court Dependency/Neglect/Abuse cases). The Court also issues Domestic Violence Civil Protection Orders (DVCPOs); Dating Violence Protection Orders (DVCPOs); Stalking Protection Orders (SPOs); and Sexually Oriented Offense Protection Orders (SOOPOs).
The Greene County DR Court serves the communities of Beavercreek, Bellbrook, Bowersville, Cedarville, Clifton, Fairborn, Jamestown, Springfield, Xenia, and all Townships within the County.

Court Etiquette
Proper Dress
All individuals using the Court, including, but not limited to Court employees, attorneys, parties, media, witnesses, or observers, must be properly attired. Any attire or activity deemed to be disruptive to the decorum of the Court is strictly prohibited. Any Court employee may exclude a Court patron not properly attired.
Courthouse Entry & Security Information
All persons entering the Greene County Domestic Relations courthouse are required to pass through the Court's security checkpoint. Visitors will be subjected to a mandatory scan of their person, bags, and property.
Please allow extra time to pass through security before your scheduled court appearance. Long lines may result in delayed entry into the courthouse.
Timeliness
Be on time. If you are late, your case may be dismissed, and/or the other side may be allowed to present their case without you. If you are running late, please call the Assignment Commissioner to inform them of your tardiness.
In the Courtroom
Act professionally and courteously toward the Judge, Magistrate, other parties, and attorneys. If you are representing yourself, you are expected to be prepared and to present your case according to the rules of court.
If you are observing court proceedings or waiting for your case to be called, be respectful of the Court. Enter and exit the room quickly and quietly. Eating, drinking, and chewing gum are not permitted in the courtroom. Observers with questions should wait for the court to recess to talk to the bailiff or Assignment Commissioner.
Electronic Devices
Individuals entering the Courtroom shall turn electronic devices such as cell phones, PDAs, tablets, or portable computers to silent mode or off. No cell phone calls shall be initiated or received in the Courtroom while Court is in session unless initiated by the Court. No electronic monitoring or use of social media of any type shall be permitted while Court is in session. This includes, but is not limited to, cell phones, recording devices, Facetime, etc. Failure to comply with the behavior and conduct rules may result in contempt of court or other sanctions.

Wireless internet access is available for court patrons. Please contact Court Security for additional information.
Public Transportation
Greene CATS is a small, county public transportation system operated by the Greene County Transit Board. Greene CATS provides safe, reliable, and accessible public transportation for the residents of Greene County with special attention to those who are transportation disadvantaged in coordination with agencies, organizations, businesses, and local governments.
