Water Conservation & Protection

Watering Suspension

County suspends odd-even watering practices, requests residents to use water wisely. Greene County Commissioners are pleased to announce significant improvements have been made to the Northwest Regional Water System. As a result, odd and even lawn irrigation practices should no longer prove necessary. However, we are still requesting customers to use wise irrigation practices. These practices will maintain your lawn and landscaping while saving you money on your water bill.

Improvements

Improvements to the water system have included developing new water sources, improving the distribution system and expanding the water treatment plant. The county continues to look for the most cost-effective means of supplying water to our customers.

There are a number of websites available that provide information on the most cost effective and water efficient way to irrigate your lawn. For more information regarding irrigation in Ohio during drought conditions please read The Ohio State University Extension fact sheet.
