Mentorship

Greene County Juvenile Court is proud to provide, with the help of the Workforce Investment Act and Greene Giving, a mentorship component to the juvenile justice system. In conjunction with court imposed case plans and monitoring to reduce recidivism by offenders, the Mentorship Program lends a hand in giving the youth the skills needed to succeed in education, employment and life through the life experiences of a responsible and caring adult from the Greene County community. Youth are referred to the Mentoring Program by the court official that is directly supervising the youth.

The Mentorship Program is designed to:
  • Provide youth with a positive adult role model
  • Improve the youth’s school attendance, behavior, and grades with tutoring
  • Provide cultural enrichment experiences
  • Build youth’s self-esteem and self worth
  • Provide job readiness programs
