Training/Background

Volunteers On Horseback Helping Greene County
Greene County Sheriff’s Office worked with the Greene County Ohio Horseman’s Council to create the Greene County Mounted Search Team (GCMoST). The first members were sworn in July, 2008. GCMoST serves the public in search for lost persons and assisting law enforcement and public safety groups as needed. Members are required to maintain training recommended by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.

What We Do

We, as volunteers, pay for and maintain our own horses, trucks, trailers, and are self-deployed when called upon by responsible authorities to help with the lost or missing person. Our members are able and willing to go out for lost or missing persons and to aid and assist them in any way needed, including emergency medical care. We are available when called upon to assist other search teams.
