Finance, Payroll, & Accounting

The auditor serves as the Greene County Chief Fiscal Officer (CFO) and is responsible to account for dollars received and issue payment on all county obligations, including the distribution of tax dollars to each township, village, city, school district, library system, and all county agencies.

The auditor is the paymaster for all county employees. The auditor also distributes motor vehicle license fees, gasoline taxes, estate taxes, fines and local government funds in addition to real estate, personal property, and manufactured home taxes.

As CFO, the auditor is required to prepare the county's annual financial report. Greene County prepares a Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) and the Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR). The CAFR is submitted to the State of Ohio for audit and the PAFR is a user-friendly version of the CAFR. For a more comprehensive breakdown of county financial analysis, please visit the Financial Reports section of the website.
