On June 26, 2018, the Supreme Court of Ohio awarded a Certificate of Recognition for the Strengthening Families Program, which is a program facilitated by the Greene County Juvenile Court. The Strengthening Families Program has been a component of the Greene County Juvenile Court Diversion Program for the past 16 years. It is an Evidence Based, Best Practice Program, which is the highest distinction for any program.
The Strengthening Families Program is for families with youth between the ages of 10-14 years of age. It is a six week program focusing on an array of skills for the parents/guardians and their youth. The Strengthening Families Program builds on existing strengths found within the family unit and provides parents/guardians with tools to help their youth become responsible young adults. The program enhances and strengthens the parents/guardians ability to set appropriate boundaries and goals for their youth.
The Strengthening Families Program is a free program for all residents of Greene County who have a child between the ages of 10-14. It is a six week program, offered twice a week, with one location in Xenia, and the other location in Fairborn. A free dinner is provided for the families during the first and last session of the groups. Chances to win prizes are offered throughout the program as well.
