Greene CATS Public Transit, in response to a severe current shortage of drivers along with decreased customer demand due to COVID-19, will hold a public hearing to discuss current and proposed temporary service changes that have or may impact the agency’s service hours and bus routes. This public hearing will be held 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm Friday, September 10 at the Greene CATS Public Transit office located at 2380 Bellbrook Avenue, Xenia, Ohio.
Greene CATS Public Transit has implemented or proposes the following temporary changes:
The purpose of the public hearing is to receive input regarding the proposed or implemented changes. Greene CATS Public Transit encourages individuals, groups, agencies, and private providers of transportation to comment on the changes.
Comments will be received verbally or in writing at the community forum. The public can also submit written comments via email at email@example.com or by calling (937) 708-8322, option 1. These comments will be collected and considered by Greene CATS Public Transit through Friday, September 24, 2021.
These changes are due to a lack of available bus drivers and were determined based on analysis of ridership on routes, specific trips, time periods experiencing lower ridership, and duplicative service coverage. As the employment situation improves and ridership levels return system-wide, Greene CATS will look at ways to restore transit services where needed.
At all Greene CATS public participation meetings, interpreters for hearing impaired individuals or bi-lingual interpreters are available upon request. Requests should be made at least one week prior to the meeting date. Contact Greene CATS at (937) 708-8322, option 1, or (877) 227-2287 to request an interpreter.
