Greene CATS Public Transit receives Xenia Chamber of Commerce Russ Remick Retail-Service Award
Greene CATS Public Transit would like to thank the Xenia Area Chamber of Commerce for presenting the Russ Remick Retail-Service Award to our organization for distinguished leadership in the retail and service industry and civic involvement at its Annual Award Banquet on February 25, 2023. “We feel honored to be chosen for this award named after Mr. Remick who embodied those qualities,” stated Ken Collier, Executive Director of the Greene County Transit Board that operates the Greene CATS Public Transit service.
Proclamations of commendation were also presented at the event from the City of Xenia - Mayor Sarah Mays; Greene County Commissioners – Rick Perales, Richard Gould, and Tom Koogler; Ohio House of Representatives - Brian Lampton and Bill Dean; Ohio Senator - Bob Hackett; Ohio Auditor of State - Keith Faber, and State of Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor John Husted. “It is gratifying to be recognized by our local and state officials for the service we carry out in the community providing residents with access to medical appointments, social service agencies, educational institutions, employment, and retail businesses,” Mr. Collier added.
In acceptance of the award Greene County Transit Board chair Woody Stroud thanked the members of the Xenia Chamber of Commerce for being stakeholder supporters of public transit in Greene County since the Greene CATS Public Transit service began in 2001. “Thanks to you for joining the riders, municipalities, public health agencies and the Greene County Board of Commissioners which established and supports the Transit Board in fulfilling its mission to provide safe, reliable public transit services for the residents of Greene County” Mr. Stroud concluded.
