At their June 18, 2015 meeting, the Greene County Commissioners proclaimed June 21 through June 27, 2015 to be Greene County History Week. Several events are planned throughout the County, including tours of local Historical Societies. The week's festivities will culminate in a "main event" to be held on Saturday, June 27 at the Greene County Historical Society complex complete with a variety of demonstrations such as blacksmithing, quilting, rope-making, and the Wright "B" Flyer Simulator.
